From Olympic Beginnings to Global Success: The Journey of JLM Risk Management Group
As the founder and president of JLM Risk Management Group, I’m proud to reflect on our journey from our Olympic beginnings to our current status as a comprehensive provider of risk management and insurance services.
Our story began with the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by vendors at this massive event, we established JLM Risk Management Group to provide specialized insurance and risk management services. Our goal was to ensure every vendor had the coverage they needed to operate confidently during one of the world’s largest and most complex events.
While the 1996 Olympics faced challenges, including the tragic explosion at Centennial Olympic Park, our program proved profitable for the insurance company and provided crucial support to our clients during a difficult time. This experience laid the foundation for what JLM Risk Management Group would become—a full-service firm offering a broad spectrum of services, including employee benefits, life and estate planning, corporate finance, property and casualty insurance, loss control and safety, and reinsurance brokerage services.
Today, 28 years after those Atlanta Games, we proudly serve clients both in the United States and the Caribbean, continuing to build on the legacy that began with the Olympics. Our eternal tie to the Olympic Games is a testament to our resilience and commitment to excellence.
As we look forward to the Paris Olympic Games, scheduled to begin on Friday, July 26, 2024, I want to take a moment to wish all the athletes, especially those on Team USA, the best of luck. Your dedication and hard work inspire us all, and we at JLM Risk Management Group are honored to support the spirit of the Games.
